20th Century Fox’s CEO Still Open To A Wolverine Reboot

Hugh Jackman might have already taken a bow as 20th Century Fox's Wolverine after delivering a powerful performance in James Mangold's gritty R-rated neo-western superhero drama, Logan, however, it seems like the studio's still considering the possibility of rebooting the character.

Speaking in a recent interview with Variety, 20th Century Fox CEO Stacey Snider was asked about whether Wolverine would be able to return to the X-Men franchise after Jackman decided to put down his claws.

Noting that Logan should be included in the Oscar race because of how brilliantly it " combines classic storytelling with superhero lore," Stacey responds with an "anything's possible" after being dogged about rebooting the character.

It's a vague answer that seems to imply that though the studio isn't that eager to reboot the character just yet, it's still not ready to let go of one of its most popular mutants. X-Men fans have come to love Jackman's rendition of Logan, and it's going to take some time for the community to accept a new Wolverine. However, even Jackman knows that it's inevitable that Wolverine will return to the big screen, saying that somebody else will fill in the role soon enough.

The next X-Men movie, Dark Phoenix, is slated for release November 2, 2018.
