20th Century Fox Still Believes In Gambit Spinoff

It looks like 20th Century Fox hasn't given up on the Gambit spinoff just yet.

According to a report by the Russian website Bulletin Kino (via ComicBook.com), 20th Century Fox briefly discussed Channing Tatum's Gambit movie during their presentation at CineEurope. After presenting a screening of X-Men: Dark Phoenix's trailer, the studio decided to give fans at CineEurope a few status updates on where The New Mutants and Gambit were in terms of development.

Apparently, Fox announced that these two films were some of the projects that they were planning to incorporate into the Marvel Universe once the Disney and Fox deal is sealed.

Though Marvel fans have long since been waiting for the arrival of the X-Men, Fantastic Four and other mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, some might feel confused about this update considering the film's messy production.

Though the film has been in development for several years, Gambit has had a lot of issues behind the scenes, losing its director several times during production. Three different directors have already left the project, the most recent of which is Gore Verbinski.

Still, after losing another director this year, this new report reassures fans that Fox is definitely serious about Gambit and that production will begin soon.
