20th Century Fox Fanfare Could Return To Star Wars If Disney Acquires Fox

For years, fans have watched every Star Wars movie with the iconic 20th Century Fox Fanfare playing right before the film starts, but with the releases of The Force Awakens and Rogue One we didn't really have any of it. With the news of Disney in talks to acquire most of Fox, there could be a possibility that the classic theme would be coming back to Star Wars.

According to ComicBook, the Fox theme, though it has been used for several other movies, has a prolonged and special version for Star Wars, and with the news on the acquisition, Disney might be able to use it for new Star Wars movies.

As of now, the new releases have this for the intro:

With all the focus on the acquisition going to Marvel getting a lot of its characters back, fans may have forgotten that Star Wars has connections to Fox as well. If this deal does push through, we could be looking at more potential releases for Star Wars; maybe even a rerelease of the original, unaltered trilogy like a lot of fans have been clamoring for.

As of now, nothing has been solidified yet, but the gist of it is, Fox wants to sell Disney most of its entertainment properties so they can focus everything else on their news and sports. We don't know how all of this will turn out for now, but hopefully it's something that won't hurt any of the big franchises that a lot of fans have grown to love.

Will the Fox theme return to Star Wars? We'll just have to wait and see what happens after these negotiations.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes out Dec. 15.
