#5- It’s Still Being Polished

Feature Detail

We’ll kick things off with the corporate-approved answer before we begin speculation. Obviously, Marvel doesn’t want to release anything that’s not up to the studio’s incredibly high visual and technical standards (unless you count Inhumans), so it makes sense that Feige wouldn’t want to make the footage available for mass consumption (and scrutiny) until it’s absolutely perfect. In fact, in a recent Twitter post, Marvel Studios co-president Louis D’Esposito went on the record to address the trailer, telling fans, “All I can say is that I love it and I hope all you feel the same. It's currently being finished so it's not ready yet.”

D’Esposito’s sentiments seem to mirror those of Infinity War co-director Joe Russo, who said this past July that the footage released at SDCC and D23 was intended for a specific audience. “You know, all I can say is that when the footage comes out we want it to be exactly right,” Russo told ComicBook.com. “So we are taking our time and working on that footage because, as you can imagine, the levels of visual effects in these movies are unprecedented and there are certain things in this footage at Comic-Con that works specifically for a Comic-Con audience. But when we go wide, to a wide audience, we have to make sure that footage works for a wide audience. So we're hard at work on that right now. I'm not going to give a timeline on it because I want to surprise people but, you know, hopefully, they're patient with us.”
