Star Wars: The Knights of The Republic Gets Unreal (Engine 4) Remake

If there's one Star Wars game that deserves an Unreal Engine 4 treatment, it should be the #1 choice in our Top 30 Best Star Wars Games Of All Time, and that would be BioWare's 2003 role-playing game, Star Wars: Knights of the Republic, and thanks to Poem Studios, the remaster is coming to life!

The unofficial project, called Knights of the Old Republic: Apeiron, is recreating the game's original content with stunning graphics engine, but it's also adding new content, including new missions, new interface and inventory system, new companions, and new items. 

Poem believes the project to be completely legal, citing Black Mesa and Renegade X (unofficial remakes of Half-Life and Command & Conquer: Renegade), but both of those projects were supported by the original developers. 

We are looking to have a larger portion of the game finished and polished before there is any kind of monetary backing," the developer wrote on its website.
