Over the past few years, Disney princesses have been reimagined into different kinds of people  —  like the X-Men, Jedi,League of Legends characters, Minions, velociraptors, etc.,

But they've never been hyper-masculine, battle-hardened space marines who slay aliens for sport until now.

Australian game developer and illustrator Emre C. Deniz illustrated his #FemaleSpaceMarines series, which suits up the Disney princesses with the iconic Space Marines armors from Warhammer 40K, a popular tabletop strategy game that takes place in a dystopian science-fiction world.

The fanbase for Warhammer 40K is male-dominated, and the space marines, the protagonists of the franchise, are canonically male, so this is a great message to show that even females could be represented well in a badass way.

Denis told the Revelist that he illustrated the series"to support people being harassed on social media [by] aggressive members of the Warhammer 40K community who felt that their 'lore' was threatened".

He added: "The images were a symbol of merging the two most extremes of gender representation, Disney and Warhammer, into one single statement; that anyone can be a ‘Space Marine' and no one can stop that."
