It's been nearly ten years since fans first got to see Zombieland in cinemas and now it looks like the sequel to the 2009 post-apocalyptic comedy horror movie's finally gotten a release date after news came out earlier this month that Zombieland 2 was on its way together with the original cast, writers, and director.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, fans won't have to wait that long for Zombieland 2 because the film's already been set to premiere on October 11, 2019, a little over a year from now.

What's even more exciting is the publication's description of the sequel film, saying that Zombieland 2 is still going to put Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin at the center of the film, but this time taking the group "from the White House to the American heartland as they face off against new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first film."

That's not all. It looks like the team's going to meet some new human survivors while dealing with the different issues and "growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family."

New zombies and new human faces, what's not to love?

For those who aren't familiar with the original Zombieland movie, the first film won the hearts of audiences and critics, turning it into a cult film soon after its release. Not only did it have horror, it also had a lot of heart, and fans loved the way the film listed down pro tips on how to survive an apocalypse. We can't wait for that list to get longer when Zombieland 2 premieres next year.
