Zack Snyder Explains What Sets Wonder Woman Apart From Other Justice League Heroes

Wonder Woman is considered to be DC's first big hit, and we get to see Gal Gadot grace the screens once more in Zack Snyder's Justice League this November. Snyder himself was responsible for introducing the character to us in Batman v Superman, and he thinks that there is something special about Wonder Woman that sets her apart from the other League members — other than the fact that she's the only woman.

Snyder says:

"She offers a unique opportunity to speak to what it is to be a strong, powerful, independent woman. It's a glance that is necessary in the world, as well as the way that we represent heroes onscreen. Having that equal representation of male and female energy is really important to me. I love that there's a purity to Wonder Woman. She doesn't have the broken past, she's not seeking revenge on people that wronged her. She can just be a hero."

Snyder does have a point when it comes to Diana's characterization. She manages to be an interesting and engaging hero, even if she is considered the "pure and innocent" one among the DC Trinity. This was also supposed to Superman's characterization from the comics, but it's been discussed that Snyder's version is Superman is made to be somber and reluctant as to humanize him and make him more relatable.

Some are expecting Superman to come to form when Justice League comes out, but so far, I'm interested in seeing how the character gets there.

Wonder Woman is currently out in theaters, and Justice League is slated for a Nov. 17 release.
