X-Men Apocalypse is the "culmination of the four main characters"

In an interview with Collider, Producer Simon Kinberg talked about how X-Men: Apocalypse will fit into the rest of the trilogy. Here's what he said:

"It delivers on the dramatic story and emotion of the last two movies. It feels like the culmination of the four main characters really — McAvoy, Fassbender, Nic Hoult, and Jen [Lawrence]. And it's a bigger movie in both physical scale and I would say emotional stakes too because it is the culmination of this mini trilogy of stories."

It sounds like X-Men: Apocalypse is going to be more epic than Days of Future Past. I wonder how Apocalypse would be tied to the culmination. We still don't know what 20th Century Fox and Bryan Singer will do with the X-Men franchise after they conclude this trilogy.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" has a May 27, 2016 release directed by Bryan Singer starring Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Ian McKellen, Rose Byrne, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp and Oscar Isaac."
