The debut of the new Marvel animated series X-Men '97 last week has set an impressive viewership record for Disney+.
After years of anticipation, the revival series of X-Men: The Animated Series finally premiered and it was met with overwhelmingly positive reactions from both fans and critics.
The series was praised for effectively balancing the nostalgic elements of the original and a fresh contemporary take on the fan-favorite mutants. It is also one of the best-reviewed Marvel Studios projects in the last few years.

X-Men '97 Reaches 4 Million Views in Its First Five Days
According to Deadline, the debut episodes of X-Men '97 nabbed four million global views in its first five days of availability on Disney+.
As a result, it is now the streamer's most-watched premiere for a full-length animated series since the first season of What If...? in 2021.
The anticipation for the premiere of the new series has also led to a boost in viewership of the original series as there was a 522% increase in its views since the first trailer debuted in February.
In other words, a lot of Disney+ subscribers were able to catch up with the original series before X-Men '97 premiered last week.
There is no doubt that this is an impressive record for the new series since it shows that a lot of people worldwide were hyped for its premiere and there was significant interest to watch the episodes the moment it became available on the service.
It is interesting to see whether the viewership record will be consistent for the rest of the reason or if there will be an increase in the numbers thanks to the positive word-of-mouth that it's been getting.
