He might not be the NXT Champion anymore but Johnny Gargano has marvelous taste when it comes to his entrance attires. During NXT Takeover: XXV, Gargano decided to show how much of a Marvel fan he is by wearing a vest clearly inspired by the Captain Marvel film. While the film is far from the best in terms of MCU quality, there's no doubt that the character has one of the best costumes out there.
Gargano has done this in the past, wearing vests inspired by Thor: Ragnarok, Venom, The Punisher, Guardians of the Galaxy, and much more. It's clear that the man loves his comic books and it really shows. His usage of the Venom symbol was probably the best since he was struggling to be a good man at the time, resorting to cheap tactics for victories against his opponents, almost mirroring the actual struggle of Venom.
Carol isn't the first female character he has based a vest on either; he once wore a vest that was inspired by The Dark Phoenix Saga, one of the best Uncanny X-Men stories ever made. Seems like the movie might not achieve that kind of adoration but that can always change; we'll just have to wait and see.
NXT Takeover: XXV can be streamed on the WWE Network. Captain Marvel is now available on digital services, while the Blu-Ray is coming out on June 11.
