Earlier this week, 20th Century Fox announced their plans for its upcoming superhero titles. The company announced official release dates for Deadpool 2, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and X-Men: New Mutants. The X-Men titles will follow a young group of mutants, and now, an appropriate working title for X-Men: New Mutants has been revealed.
Production Weekly reports that New Mutants is being developed under the working title Growing Pains. Obviously, the title suits the project as New Mutants will be centered on newcomer mutants who attend Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. New Mutants has traditionally featured characters like Wolfsbane, Sunspot, Magik, and Cannonball.
Filming for Growing Pains is expected to begin next month with production taking place in Montreal and Boston.
New Mutants is set to hit theaters on April 13, 2018; Deadpool 2 will be released on June 1, 2018; and X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be released on November 2, 2018.
