Wonder Woman Will Explore Possibly the Greatest Value in Hero World

Besides Aquaman and The Flash, perhaps one of the buzzwords in the DC Cinematic Universe is Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman portrayal.

We've already seen that the actress may be right on the nose with her portrayal of Diana Prince a.k.a. Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. And from the looks of it, the actress also embodies what the main direction of the movie is.

Speaking to We Got This Covered, Gadot revealed that Wonder Woman will have a different feel to the DC movies we've already seen.

"Wonder Woman is different. On this film, we went back to Diana's backstory—to her history, her coming of age. How did Diana become Wonder Woman? But with this character, what I love about her so much is that her agenda is love. It's not about fighting, it's not about who is stronger than whom; it's not about women versus men. It's about love and acceptance of others. She stands for love, justice, and compassion."

Given that this will be a backstory treatment, it would be interesting what exactly about the issue of love and compassion it will focus on.

Just recently, Wonder Woman: Rebirth writer Greg Rucka confirmed that there are some complexities in terms of Diana's preferences and inclinations, as far as relationships go in her homeland of Themyscira. Whether or not this will be explored in the movie remains to be seen.

Wonder Woman will be out in theaters on June 2, 2017. It will also star Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Danny Huston, Robin Wright, and David Thewlis. Elena Anaya has been confirmed for a villain role, whose identity some fans have already started the speculation machine.
