Wonder Woman Footage Description Teases Ares And The Lasso Of Truth

Disney wasn't the only studio cranking up the hype over its upcoming films at CinemaCon this week. Warner Bros. was also in attendance during the event, bringing with it new footage from the film many DC fans hope will lift up the stumbling DC Extended Universe, Patty Jenkin's Wonder Woman.

According to a report by The Wrap, Warner Bros. decided to give fans at CinecomCon a closer look into Wonder Woman's (Gal Gadot) pursuit of the God of War, Ares and a closer look at her relationship with Steve Trevor (Chris Pine).

Diana is going after Ares, believing that he has somehow influenced the German soldiers in the period piece. The Amazon Princess explains this to Steve while in a boat ride to London, however while Diana is interested in saving the world, Steve just wants to get to know her better, trying to get her to understand the concept of marriage while o the boat.

The second scene features the two in London, only to be harassed by a pickpocket. This is where Wonder Woman is seen using the iconic Lasso of Truth.

These two new clips certainly bring a lot to the table. Though Ares is one of Wonder Woman's oldest enemies, not much has been revealed about the villain in the film. Now, fans have confirmation that Wonder Woman believes Ares has a hand in the war. Not only that, but we get to hear that Wonder Woman is actively using the Lasso of Truth as a lie detector – the first time we saw the weapon, Diana had used it to restrain Doomsday in Batman Vs. Superman. Wonder Woman certainly sounds as exciting as ever.

Let's hope the hype proves to be true when Wonder Woman premieres on June 2, 2017.
