Wonder Woman 1984: Robin Wright Confirms Antiope Flashback Scene

Praise Artemis! Wonder Woman 1984 is bringing back our favorite Amazon in a glorious flashback scene. Robin Wright has just confirmed that she will return as Antiope in the highly anticipated sequel.

Wright recently spoke to Net-A-Porter about her current projects. The House of Cards star revealed that she has already finished work on the sixth and final season of her Netflix series and is preparing for her directorial debut. In addition to that, Wright shared that she is "shooting a flashback sequence in Spain with Connie Nielsen."

This is certainly good news for fans who fell in love with the fearless Antiope in the first Wonder Woman film. Although both Wright had a brief cameo in Justice League, most of the action ended up with Nielsen's Queen Hippolyta. It is still unclear what Antiope and Hippolyta's scene will be about but hopefully, it will feature more fighting for Wright and Nielsen.

Wright also spoke up about how close House of Cards Season 6 came to being canceled. The Princess Bride actress admitted that she fought to keep the show going because she felt that the audience needed a fitting conclusion. In addition to that, she refused to allow the cast and crew to be jobless. "2,500 people would have been out of a job and that's not fair – to take that security away from those people… They didn't do anything [wrong]," she said.

It's good to know that Wright shares Antiope's ferocity and I am really looking forward to seeing her future projects, especially Wonder Woman 1984.

House of Cards Season 6 will air on Netflix on November 2. Wonder Woman 1984 is scheduled for release on November 1, 2019.
