Westworld's James Marsden Joins Sonic the Hedgehog Movie

He might not be rolling around at the speed of sound but James Marsden is joining the Sonic the Hedgehog movie from Paramount Pictures. The former X-Men star has been doing plenty good recently, with his role in Westworld standing out over his more recent roles. Considering how most fans are skeptical over this film, we can only hope Marsden has made a good decision.

Variety revealed the news, pointing out how he will be starring in the film but not saying who he will be. This means that the former Cyclops will not be lending his voice or his likeness to Sonic. The fact that his role wasn't announced is actually quite worrisome since it could mean that he might play a real person who has to interact with a CGI hedgehog.

Sonic the Hedgehog will be helmed by Jeff Fowler in his directing debut, with Deadpool director Tim Miller acting as a producer under his Original Film banner. The film will supposedly mix CGI with live-action, which has many fans worried that it will end up like Alvin and the Chipmunks or The Smurfs.

Fans of the chili dog-loving Hedgehog will be able to catch this film on November 15, 2019. Paul Rudd of Ant-Man fame is reportedly in talks for the lead role.
