Watchmen: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Shares BTS Look at Dr. Manhattan

Two episodes ago, it was revealed that Yahya Abdul-Matten II's Cal was actually Dr. Manhattan in disguise, and the last episode, A God Walks Into a Bar reveals exactly how he came to end up in Tulsa. The episode actually got to show us Manhattan in his full form, and Abdul-Mateen shares us a BTS look of his Manhattan makeup.

Admittedly I think the VFX of Manhattan in the Watchmen movie was still better, but I do appreciate how they managed to go around the special effects in the show. What hasn't been explained though, is how Manhattan's face is still that of Cal's and not Jon Osterman's. I think at this point, it would be weird to see another actor take on the role, especially since we've been seeing Cal this whole time.

While I'm holding out we get to see Osterman's face in the last episode, I'm not really that irked that Manhattan decided to keep Cal's face in his true form. I guess it would resonate more when he meets Laurie, who knows Jon by a different face. Too bad it's already been debunked by the show on the case that Mr. Phillips was actually a clone of Osterman.

After three episodes filled with backstory, I'm ready to come back to the present and find out what's going to happen with the 7th Kavalry and their plan. We know that Trieu also has her own scheme with the Millennium Clock, so it's exciting to see how all of it will end next week.

Catch the final episode of Watchmen when it comes out next Sunday, Dec. 15.
