Game of Thrones is ending, and HBO has been releasing these interesting featurettes to get everyone hyped up for the final season. Just in they dropped a fun video of the cast remembering their first day on set and reminiscing about what they loved about working on the show for almost 10 years.
Admittedly, the only people to get interviewed were the main surviving cast. At some point I even kind of hoped that they brought Sean Bean or Mark Addy to say something about their short time on the show. Then again, it really isn’t their show to talk about anymore.
We got some great insight from everyone, and I have to say Emilia Clarke is an absolute delight in the video. Whereas Daenerys is always strong and determined on set, Clarke comes off as so quirky and silly that you can just love her to bits.
It also kind of puts a lot of things in perspective in the sense that we’ve watched a lot of these characters grow in front of us through the years. Who’d have thought in the first season that we would be seeing Arya, Bran, and Sansa grow to become big players in “the Great Game” despite being children? It’s also fun to see all the older actors talk about watching their younger co-stars grow along with them.
Though HBO is already planning a spinoff, it’s going to be emotional for a lot of fans to say goodbye to Westeros (for this era at least). Hopefully, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss got to polish the finale as well as they could.
