Warner Brothers Reportedly Considering Michael B. Jordan As Superman Replacement

Earlier today, much to the surprise of many DC fans, word broke out that Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill would no longer be reprising his role as Clark Kent. Now, rumor has it that Warner Brothers might actually be considering replacing the Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice star with Black Panther's Michael B. Jordon.

Though it might seem like a big jump, a new report by Deadline says that Warner Brothers is actually considering having Jordan take the role "down the road," most likely to fill in for Cavill who's leaving the role.

Jordan who starred in Black Panther was praised for his performance as the villain Killmonger, and it seems like Warner Brothers might want to have the actor's talent in the DCEU as the franchise's new Superman. Not only would add some life to the Man of Steel's role, it would also add to the diversity and representation of the studio's burgeoning superhero franchise.

Of course, as exciting as it may sound, fans have to take this new report with a grain of salt like any other rumor without confirmation. Besides, there's no knowing whether or not Jordan would be up for the role, or whether Warner Brothers is seriously considering the actor for the part. The name could have simply been mentioned during discussions about the new direction the studio has planned for Superman. Who knows. We'll just have to wait and see.
