Warner Bros. Looking To Lego Batman Director To Helm Film For Nightwing

It looks like DC's really pushing the Batman franchise forward.

After officially confirming that War for the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves had finally signed on to helm the DC Expanded Universe's controversial The Batman, Warner Bros. has decided to add to the good news by plotting a Nightwing solo for the Batman film franchise.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is greenlighting a DCEU film focusing on one of Batman's most popular sidekicks, the former Robin, Dick Grayson. The studio is currently negotiating with Chris McKay to helm the film. McKay directed the recently released The Lego Batman Movie which was well received by critics and fans alike.

This is a lot of good news for DC and Batman fans. Despite being one of the most popular members of the Batfamily, Dick Greyson's Robin has yet to officially make an appearance in any of the new Warner Bros. films. Plus, it seems like the studio's making a good decision asking McKay to direct the film. After all, based on how The Lego Batman Movie was able to honor all of the different Batman series, Mckay certainly knows his Batman history. Let's hope he takes the job!
