WandaVision to Begin Filming in September?

Wanda and Vision may not have gotten a happy ending in the main MCU timeline, but the two are set to star in their own Disney+ series titled WandaVision. Though the series is set to come out early 2021, the show is set to begin production earlier than expected.

According to a post by the Film & Television Industry Alliance (via MCU Cosmic), WandaVision is set to begin shooting on Sept. 21, 2019. What's more intriguing is that the show will not be shooting in Atlanta like other Marvel productions, but in Los Angeles, much like Jon Favreau did with The Mandalorian.

Some are thinking it's curious that production for the series would start so early, seeing that no director has been announced, but maybe Disney is holding on to the reveal for the D23 Expo which takes place in a few weeks. Add to that, production probably has to begin early because Elizabeth Olsen is also set to shoot for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness along with Benedict Cumberbatch.

Of course, it's still possible that production for the show won't start in September, so we should just take this news with a grain of salt.

As for the plot of WandaVision, we have nothing official announced, but some expect it to deal with Wanda's reality-altering powers. We don't really know where this will lead, but some expect it to build-up to the Doctor Strange sequel with Wanda being the unknowing villain.

Then again, that's just a guess.

Catch WandaVision when it hits Disney+ on the spring of 2021. Wanda Maximoff is also set for a return in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which hits theaters May 7, 2021.
