Venom’s Tom Hardy Wants A Crossover With The MCU’s Avengers

Sony's upcoming Venom standalone may have very little to do with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, Eddie Brock star Tom Hardy is still hoping that the Symbiote gets to have a crossover movie with the Avengers.

Speaking in an interview with MTV to help promote his upcoming comic book movie, Hardy decided to open up about Venom's PG -13 rating. According to the actor, Venom could have easily swerved into an R-rating, however Hardy says that Venom isn't necessarily a character that children should be afraid of since his own kids play with both Venom and Spider-Man toys on their own.

During the interview Hardy also casually admitted that he'd love to "run through all the Avengers" someday, though the actor knows that getting a Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover is a tad bit above his pay grade.

Hardy's Venom co-star Riz Ahmed (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) was also present during the discussion, and the actor was asked by MTV whether Venom would manage to get along with the Earth's Mightiest Heroes if he ever had a crossover movie with the Avengers.

"He'd just eat all of them," Ahmed joked, adding in a comment saying that Venom and Mark Ruffalo's Hulk might be a good match-up for a future crossover. We're pretty sure that Bruce Banner's Angry Green Man could handle the voracious Symbiote.

Of course, we're not quite sure whether or not Marvel and Sony would approve a crossover movie. Then again, Sony has already lent the rights to Spider-Man to Marvel, so nothing's impossible really.

Venom hits cinemas October 5, 2018.
