Tom Hardy’s Son Guided Him On What He Was Doing Right And Wrong In Venom

Venom might have Ruben Fleisher as its director, however, it looks like actor Tom Hardy listened to someone else's feedback and advice on his role as Sony's Symbiote – and that person turns out to be his 10-year-old-son.

The Venom standalone movie just recently had its global premiere at Los Angeles this week, and while he was attending the opening of his movie, Hardy told Entertainment Tonight that his son Louis had been part and parcel of his own creative process.

According to the British actor, it was his 10-year-old son who would tell him what he was doing right and what he was doing wrong in portraying Eddie Brock in the Symbiote standalone movie.

"He was pretty much in the driving seat for a lot of it, and I did use him as my anthology and my mythology wizard," Hardy told the publication. "He told me what I was doing wrong, and I was doing more things wrong than I was doing right because children are deeply honest. He was my little spirit guide in that aspect."

It's a pretty cute story. Imagine Hardy being coached by his own son, and the actor listening intently as his child gives him advice on how to play the role. Based on Hardy's description, Louis might be a big comic book fan, so it might have come naturally to the boy to help his father work on his role.

Hopefully, fans will get to enjoy Hardy's interpretation of the character once the film releases this Friday.

Venom premieres October 5, 2018.
