Tifa's Final Fantasy VII Remake Voice Actress Has Been Receiving Death Threats

Final Fantasy VII Remake has to be one of the most anticipated video games coming out next year, having us revisit memorable locations and characters but in glorious HD. Like most triple-A video games, there will be voice acting, with those listening in Japanese happy to know that the actress who has been voicing Tifa since Kingdom Hearts II, Ayumi Ito, will return to the role.

Sadly, there are people who aren't a fan of the actress, with a report from The Sankei News (translated by Kotaku) claiming that there are people who have sent Ito death threats. This has become the norm for those with even the smallest bit of fame, thanks to the rise of social media, and we all wish they would stop.

Can we start a hashtag of no more death threats? #nomoredeaththreats

One threat supposedly comes from a woman in her 20's, who wants to kill Ito for her live-action roles, particularly one that is about to debut in Japan. There is also a man in his 30's who hates Ito so much that he wants her recast for an unnamed project - though it could be Final Fantasy VII Remake - which is also really alarming.

Apparently, charges have been made towards the people who did the threats, so we can only hope that the matter will be resolved. Here is hoping Ayumi Ito can just enjoy acting and she doesn't have to bother with these kinds of threats anymore.

Final Fantasy VII Remake comes out on PS4 on March 3, 2020. #nomoredeaththreats
