Thunderbolts* star Olga Kurylenko recently addressed the title change on the upcoming MCU movie.
Last month, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that the movie's title had been changed as an asterisk had been added at the end of the name.
However, they didn't share any explanation regarding why the asterisk was added, but it has prompted a lot of theories and speculations among fans as they try to figure out the meaning behind it.

Thunderbolts* Star Olga Kurylenko Opens Up About the Title Change
In an interview, Kurylenko, who is set to reprise the role of Taskmaster in Thunderbolts*, was asked about the addition of the asterisk in the title and whether she can share some details about the change.
As expected, she didn't provide any spoiler details about the title change but she hinted that the project underwent a lot of changes throughout the making.
"Well, they changed a couple of things. That's all I can say, but that also doesn't say anything, because obviously every movie is different, and in every movie, things change. But yeah, it will be different, we'll see. There's nothing I can say," she said.
It's not surprising to hear the actress play coy about the title change since we know that MCU actors are usually forbidden to share any spoiler details and she just wanted to be careful about the details.
This will also lead to more speculations about the title change since it is pretty clear that there is an important meaning behind it and it's not just a random addition.
Perhaps we will get some context once we're closer to its release which is still far ways off from now. For now, fans should wait for more news and updates about the film for the next 12 months.
Thunderbolts* is scheduled for release in theaters on May 2, 2025.
