Thor: Ragnarok Star Idris Alba Tests Positive For COVID-19

It looks like COVID-19 has infected another Hollywood A-lister.

Last week word came out that Ghostbusters and Forrest Gump legend Tom Hanks had been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus together with his wife, actress Rita Wilson. Now, it looks like Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War star Idris Elba has tested positive for the disease as well. Taking to Twitter, Elba decided to break out the news, saying that he's been found to be infected with the wide-spreading COVID-19.

"This morning I got some tests back for coronavirus and it tested positive," the actor said in a video that he posted on the social media site. "Yeah, and it sucks. Listen, I'm doing okay. Sabrina hasn't been tested and she's doing okay. I haven't had any symptoms. I got tested because I realized because I had been exposed to someone who had also tested positive. I found out last Friday that they had tested positive and so I quarantined myself and got tested immediately and got results back today."

Right now the actor is self-isolating so that he can prevent the spread of the disease.

The novel coronavirus has had such an impact on the globe the past few months. As of today, the number of tested and confirmed cases of COVID-19 has reached to more than 179,000 with more than 7,071 deaths.

Not only has the disease caused quite a number of city-wide and nation-wide lockdowns around the globe, but it's also canceled major events and films, including the latest installment in the Fast and Furious franchise. Elba starred in the 2019 Fast and Furious spinoff movie Hobbs & Shaw.
