This Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Character Should’ve Died

Taking into account the early feedback of chosen media members, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was a great hit among fans—each and every one of the characters involved.

So it's a good thing that one of them didn't die in the original movie, something that was supposed to have happened way back. Actress Karen Gillian revealed to Digital Spy that we almost lost Nebula in the first movie.

"I definitely had a feeling that there was room for the character to expand in the future, but she was originally supposed to die in the first movie, I think I remember in the script. She obviously did not die, then I found out that she was coming back in the second movie, and then I found out we got to explore all these amazing things about her past and her relationship with Gamora, her sister, so I was really happy."

Nebula is definitely a badass in the first movie. Granted, it seemed like she wanted to be noticed and praised by her father more than the actual favorite Gamora, but this particular angle made her character even more layered and important. She barely escaped the first time, rejecting her sister's help—possibly thanks to Thanos' words of Gamora being the favorite one.

We'll have to see if Nebula will still be around come Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. After all, the second movie will only be set a few months after the first movie, so we'll be taking off a little around where the first movie left off.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be out in theaters on May 5.
