The Suicide Squad: James Gunn Shares a Look at His King Shark Birthday Cakes

While it may be a while before we get Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, James Gunn is currently working on DC's The Suicide Squad. Gunn had just celebrated his birthday on August 5 and shares a look at his cakes themed around the character King Shark.

Check them out:

Though The Suicide Squad has already announced its roster of members, we don't really have anyone announced to play King Shark. We know that the character can talk in the comics, but I wouldn't be surprised if Gunn would make KS completely speechless in the film. After all, he managed to make audiences fall in love with a tree that could only say "I am Groot." What's one more giant CGI monster?

So far, the only new Squad members to be confirmed are Polka-Dot Man (David Dastmalchian), Ratcatcher (Daniela Melchoir), and whoever Idris Elba is playing. Returning squad members from the first film include Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman), and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie).

For now, it's said that The Suicide Squad is aiming to start production this fall. We don't have any official update yet, but with Gunn back and ever vocal on social media, I wouldn't put it past him to give us an inside look at the first day of shooting.

Catch The Suicide Squad when it hits theaters Aug. 6, 2021. You can catch Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn in Birds of Prey which comes out Feb. 7, 2020.
