The Russo Brothers Essentially Confirm Upcoming Loki Series Coming to Disney+

You've got to give The Russo Brothers a lot of credit. They know how to take audience expectations and completely change it. Many of us thought that Black Widow would survive Avengers: Endgame since she has a movie coming but the character is now permanently dead thanks to her sacrifice to get the Soul Stone. Now, we know that a Loki series is coming to Disney+ but it doesn't involve the version of this character who was killed in Infinity War.

Speaking with Business Insider, The Russos confirmed that Loki taking one of the Infinity Stones during a hilarious blunder in Avengers: Endgame has created another reality. That means that this version of Loki could be alive and well, maybe even starring in that Disney+ series everyone keeps talking about. It managed to subvert our expectations since most of us thought Loki would just be brought back somehow.

"Loki, when he teleports away with the Space Stone, would create his own timeline. It gets very complicated, but it would be impossible for Cap to rectify the timeline unless he found Loki. The minute that Loki does something as dramatic as take the Space Stone, he creates a branched reality."

Granted, there is probably a section of people who think that The Russo Brothers are channeling J.K. Rowling when it comes to these post-film character actions. Then again, unlike Captain America being the father of Peggy's kids, this actually seems plausible since a.) it was set up b.) the rules of taking Infinity Stones was established by The Ancient One and c.) Disney announced a new series for the character.

Expect the long-awaited Loki series to get an announcement soon. Avengers: Endgame should still be showing in theaters.
