The Orville Star Adrianne Palicki Reflects On Her Failed Wonder Woman Pilot

Though Gal Gadot may be the face of Wonder Woman for now, Diana Prince could very well have been The Orville's Adrianne Palicki. Palicki had starred in a pilot for a Wonder Woman reboot which failed to get picked up, and now, several years later, she reflects on the show that could have been.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Palicki explains:

"I was devastated when the pilot didn't go. But I also look at it, like, I got paid to wear that costume. And that is one of the coolest moments of my life running down Hollywood Boulevard. Like, that was so cool. And I was — how lucky am I. And you know, everything for a reason. It led me here. You know what I mean? So as dark as those moments were back in the day, I'm happy and so glad that somebody else gets to wear that costume. I'm so glad that [Gal Gadot is] rocking it."

Back in 2011, a lot of people thought that Palicki was ready to have a huge career boost thanks to being cast in the Wonder Woman pilot for NBC. Sadly, the pilot was a misfire, but should things have gone a different way, I can imagine Palicki being the lead of what is now basically the Arrowverse.

Looking back at the pilot now, it's clear that the superhero genre has grown, and something like this Wonder Woman series would have been easily slammed should it come out today.

Either way, I'm glad things turned out the way they did. I think Gal Gadot is a fantastic Wonder Woman, and I really like Palicki's Commander Grayson in The Orville.

Catch Adrianne Palicki on The Orville on FOX.
