The New Addams Family Trailer is Creepy and Kooky

MGM has never really been able to compete with animated films from Dreamworks or Disney, but they're set to release a reboot of The Addams Family later this year. What's interesting is, they've dropped a new trailer, and it looks like a fun take on pop-culture's weirdest families.

Here's the official description for the film:

Based on the famous New Yorker creations of Charles Addams, this animated action-comedy will follow the Addams family whose lives begin to unravel when they face-off against a crafty reality-TV host while also preparing for their extended family to arrive for a major celebration, Addams-style.

Though some may not be a fan of the new characters designs, these are actually closer to the original Addams Family comic that came out in the New Yorker back in the 30s. It's been a while since we've gotten a live-action Addams Family film, so it could be a good choice to go back to the roots of the franchise to introduce it to a new generation.

Not to mention, the film has a star-studded cast. You have Charlize Theron playing Morticia Addams, with Oscar Isaac voicing Gomez. We also have Chloe Grace Moretz as Wednesday, Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard as Pugsley, Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester, and Bette Midler as Grandmama; and out of nowhere, we also have Snoop Dogg as the voice of Cousin It who kind of sounds like a minion.

Catch The Addams Family when it comes out Oct. 11.
