Marvel fans witnessed how the Infinity Saga panned out with the release of Avengers: Endgame earlier this year. The movie left the Guardians of the Galaxy at a really interesting place, but what's next for our heroes?
In a recent interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, GOTG star Karen Gillan spoke about a movie she directed herself back in 2018 titled The Party's Just Beginning. However, starring as Nebula and being a huge part of Endgame, it is inevitable for the actress to be asked about the upcoming sequel that James Gunn will return to direct.
"I can say that I've read it and it's amazing," Gillan revealed. She told the outlet that she's excited for Gunn to be back to complete the trilogy, because the actress thinks "it wouldn't have felt right without him." Gillan seems to be gushing over the story, since she mentioned that it's a "wonderful, wonderful script."
In contrast, the actress also mentioned how she wasn't able to read the script for Endgame. "I didn't get the whole script," Gillan said. But she had a "good chunk" of it so she was able to "work out" what's happening in the film.
Gillan also recalled about the time she knew what her character's story would have ended up with in the first Guardians of the Galaxy film. "It was eight days of filming and she was supposed to die in the first Guardians film," she added. The actress said that it felt "amazing" for her character to be able to evolve and even have a "pivotal role" in Endgame. "I didn't see it coming at all," Gillan admitted.
For now, there's no telling what Nebula is set to do in the upcoming film. Considering that the 2014 Gamora is the one present after the events of Endgame, it looks like she'll have a lot of catching up to do with her sister.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has yet to have a release date.
