The Flash Actor Might Leave Series After Season 5

It looks like Team Flash is about to lose one of its founding members. A new report suggests that the conclusion of The Flash Season 5 will give a proper send-off to one of Barry Allen's old friends.

According to We Got This Covered, a source revealed that Carlos Valdes has expressed plans of leaving the CW series. The former High School Musical star reportedly "wants to move on to new pastures" and could leave the show as soon as the fifth season concludes.

Valdes has played Cisco Ramon since the pilot episode of The Flash. Although the character started out as a mechanical engineering genius working for STAR Labs in the first season, he has since become a metahuman called Vibe. Needless to say, Cisco's absence in the series will be devastating. I mean, who is going to give all these metahumans their new names now?

Although it would be easy to simply kill Cisco off, fans can rest assured that Valdes' character will not suffer a horrible fate. According to the source, the series plans to write a proper send-off for Cisco, giving Valdes the chance to return and reprise his role in the future seasons. Perhaps we'll see him again in another Arrowverse crossover event. In the meantime, we're hoping that Valdes will change his mind and decide to stay with The Flash after Season 5.

Valdes is still set to return in the upcoming episode Cause And XS. The synopsis reads as follows:

"After Iris (Candice Patton) lands in serious danger, Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) races to save her mother. Barry (Grant Gustin) puts the finishing touches on the metahuman cure, leaving Cisco (Carlos Valdes) with a rare night off so he decides to take Kamilla (guest star Victoria Park) on a date."

The Flash Season 5 airs on The CW every Tuesday night.
