The Dawn of the Witch kicks off yet another fantasy adventure anime episode as Saybil, Hort, Kudo, and the Dawn Witch, Loux Krystas, encounter the arbiter, also known as the tyrant, who hunts witches for a living. What Happened in The Dawn of the Witch Episode 2?
The Dawn of the Witch Episode 2 picks up where the first episode left off, with Hort and Saybil discovering the decapitated tail of the beastfallen Kudo. While they are both deliberating whether Kudo is still alive, they both notice three footsteps on the ground.
One is for Kudo, another is for their professor, Loux Krystas, and the third is unidentified. Having said that, Saybil and Hort believe that the third footstep belongs to the witch hunter who, despite being only one person, decapitated the talented Kudo.
Meanwhile, Kudo is hiding from the arbiter who has been following him for some time. In case you missed it, the arbiter is a former member of Dia Ignis, a group formed by the Church composed of ex-convicts with the sole purpose of murdering witches.
In any case, the lizard beastfallen has bad luck because he always manages to set off the arbiter's traps, revealing his whereabouts. Kudo recalls his previous life as a caged performer, where his hands were frequently decapitated due to his ability to regenerate quickly, in the face of danger.
Loux Krystas appeared, wielding her Ludens Staff, just as the arbiter was about to strike Kudo in the head. Loux is able to prevent the arbiter from killing Kudo thanks to her powerful abilities and the Ludens Staff.
Everything is going according to plan until Hort and Saybil appear in the area. As a result, the arbiter uses Saybil as a hostage, while Hort's true identity as a spy for the Church has been exposed. On the contrary, Hort's comrades aren't surprised, as Saybil smiles in front of her, implying his trust in her.
The arbiter orders Loux Krystas to drop her Ludens staff on the ground while Hort reflects on her past and present lives. As a result, much to the surprise of the dawn witch, the arbiter orders Saybil to wrap the witch-eating staff in his consecrated cloak.
Hort eventually decides to switch sides and fight for her comrades. She casts a magical spell, only to have it blocked by the arbiter. In light of this, Saybil picks up the Ludens Staff by hand, and a powerful magical aura embeds the air in the area.
Moving on, Saybil awakens after the incident has been resolved. While he has no recollection of what occurred, it appears that Hort and Loux Krystas defeated the arbiter.
Surprisingly for Saybil, Loux explains that his magic is infinite, which is why he survived by using the witch-eating Ludens staff. With that said, Kudo joins Saybil's group on their journey to the south in order to establish a village for good witches while also eradicating insurgents from the Church-Witches war 500 years ago.
