The CW Reportedly Wanted Ruby Rose to Leave Batwoman

There is little doubt that people are still shocked over Ruby Rose's announcement that she has decided to leave Batwoman after only one season. However, it looks like the decision didn't just come from the former Orange Is the New Black actress. A new report reveals that The CW had actually wanted Rose out of the series even while she was working on the first season.

The report comes from TVLine, which cites an anonymous source who revealed that the network was also eager to let go of Rose.

"It wasn't 100-percent her decision," the source said. "It was a breakup. She wasn't happy working on the show, and did that make her fun to work with? No. So everyone decided it would be in the best interests of the show, and for all concerned if they parted ways. It just wasn't a good fit."

The source also shared that Rose was "was distressed by the long hours demanded of a lead TV role and did not acclimate well to life in Vancouver." Rose had previously worked on The Meg and John Wick: Chapter 2, which were movies that didn't require several hours of filming. Unfortunately, it left her unhappy and eager to abandon the show as soon as possible.

It is also believed that Rose decided to leave Batwoman after she suffered a major injury that required a painful neck surgery.

For now, The CW has not yet found a replacement for Rose in the lead role for Batwoman Season 2. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
