The Batman: J.K. Simmons Excited To Keep Working With Ben Affleck

Though he may have made his way into our hearts as Spider-Man's cranky boss, J.K. Simmons has now moved on to the DC side and is playing Batman's longtime comrade, Commissioner Gordon. Gordon will be introduced in the upcoming Justice League, but Simmons is already excited to work with Affleck on the other Batman standalone movies.

Talking to Red Carpet News TV, Simmons comments:

"Oh absolutely, yeah. And I worked with Ben a couple of years ago on The Accountant and I met him years before that. So yes, I'm excited to work with him and hope to work with him on the other side of the camera at some point, as well. He's obviously a talented filmmaker in addition to being the movie star that he is and the good actor that he is, which I think will continue to develop as we see Batman and Commissioner Gordon not be spring chickens and we get into some interesting stories about these weathered kinds of guys."

Though Affleck was originally onboard to direct The Batman, Planet of the Apes' Matt Reeves is now taking over the project; Affleck, however, is still onboard as the main star and producer for the film. With a lot of rumors coming out about Affleck getting tired of playing Batman, he has confirmed that he will be playing the character as long as WB will have him.

No official synopsis or release date has been announced for the film, but we should get some updates on The Batman as the year trudges on. In the meantime, we can catch the Caped Crusader in Justice League which comes out Nov. 17.
