The Amazing World of Gumball is Coming Back this December

Cartoon Network has been the hub for amazing new shows like Adventure Time and Steven Universe, and earlier this year we had the final season of The Amazing World of Gumball. With the show ending on a cliffhanger, it's been revealed that we might get a proper sendoff this coming December.

According to Animation Magazine, The Amazing World of Gumball is coming back with a series of special episodes called Darwin's Yearbook. The episodes are said to focus on Darwin as he goes around Elmore Junior High asking around for which teacher deserves a special slot in the yearbook.

I guess it's a good way to focus on each of the unique characters as well, seeing as the weirdness of Gumball is what gives the show its charm. There are even fun nods to modern pop-culture with the students having "Elmore Plus" accounts, which sound like a jab at the upcoming streaming service, Disney+.

With Steven Universe getting a movie and a final season of Steven Universe Future, I think it's only fitting that Gumball should get a proper sendoff. Then again, this seems to have been the plan the entire time, seeing as the final episode of the show ended with an obvious cliffhanger.

The Amazing World of Gumball is absolutely one of my favorite shows from the newer generation of Cartoon Network, and though it got canceled, it's kind of great to see CN is going to give it a proper end.

Catch Darwin's Yearbook when it airs this coming December on Cartoon Network.
