That's Not Weatherlight in The Background of Dominaria's Key Art; Here's What It Could Be


The first art for the upcoming Magic: The Gathering set, Dominaria,has been revealed recently, giving us a look at three classic Magic characters Teferi, Jhoira, and Karn, but there's one detail in the artwork that fans have been speculating about. It's the wing at the left of Jhoira. Many are guessing that it could be the famous skyship called Weatherlight. Created by Urza to save Dominaria from Phyrexian invaders, It has the ability to travel from plane to plane.

However, Redditor Jay13x recently pointed out that it might not be Weatherlight after all but rather its skyship nemesis, Predator. He shared a comic page illustrated by Mark Tedin to point out that the wing in the art looks more like Venser's unfinished skyship than Weatherlight's. Check out the art:
