'That's Not Batman' in Latest Elseworlds TV Promo

That's definitely not Batman alright. It's not Batgirl either. Nope, it is Batwoman, the newest DC superhero to join the Arrowverse and one of the most notable LGBTQ characters in superhero comics today. After seeing a ton of images that show just how good Ruby Rose looks as the military-trained member of the Bat-Family, we finally see her in action briefly and it seems like we won't be needing Batman for a while.

Debuting in next month's Elseworlds crossover, which will be told through The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl, Batwoman is seen trying to stop a breakout in Arkham Asylum. The references to the Dark Knight comes from Barry Allen, dressed in Green Arrow's costume, and his good friend Cisco, who may or may not be Vibe in this reality.

It might only last 30 seconds but it is somewhat surreal seeing a character like Batwoman in the flesh for the first time ever, outside of various cosplays. The fact that not all of Batman's supporting characters have made it to live-action, yet have left such an impact on fans, shows just how influential the hero's tales are to this day. Hopefully, Batwoman sets herself apart from her cousin (spoilers?), as the crossover will supposedly lead to a new CW series starring this character.

Fans of the comic books know how different Batwoman is from Batman and it isn't just their genders. Kate Kane came from the military and decided to make the world a better place after being saved by Batman. Granted, she is willing to kill when necessary, something Batman will never be able to do, which will always cause a rift between the two.

Elseworlds will premiere in the CW this December. A Batwoman series is set to come to the CW in 2019 or 2020.
