Superman Versus The KKK is Being Adapted to Film

Superhero movies have become more rounded on reality—there has been a rise in combative suits over spandex and life lessons that are applicable to modern times.

A new movie in the works is putting Superman against a more tangible group of enemies. According to Deadline, Rick Bowers's interesting nonfiction book Superman vs. The Klu Klux Klan: The True Story of How the Iconic Superhero Battled the Men of Hate from 2012 will now be adapted for the big screen by Katherine Lindberg.

"The themes of this true story fall right in line with the type of stories that inspired me to want to make movies in the first place. We're delighted to be partnering with PaperChase and are looking forward to a successful and enjoyable collaboration on this film with hopefully more to come in the future."

The movie is based on the Superman Radio Show back in 1946, and how different stories have boiled down to a big face-off with the Klu Klux Klan. The story that will adapted will follow w former KKK member who went undercover to work with the Anti-Defamation League and producer of the Superman Radio Show.

Producer Marc Rosen said that the movie will show how evil can be fought with brains, and how truth plays out cooler than what fiction can invent. He added that the movie will pick up elements from films like The Departed and Mississippi Burning.

The creators have yet to announce any casting or production timelines for the movie.
