Star Wars: The High Republic Villains Possibly Connected to KOTOR Sith Lord

The next era of Star Wars is coming and fans are set to meet new heroes and villains. But is it possible that the mysterious baddies in Star Wars: The High Republic are somehow connected to a particular Sith Lord? There are speculations that the Nihil might have some connection to someone from Star Wars: The Knights of the Old Republic.

In the announcement trailer for The High Republic, the Nihil was described as "Space Vikings" who are antagonistic towards the Jedi. Their appearances are also hidden in masks so you're never sure whether they are humans or aliens. Not surprisingly, these new villains are already believed to be connected to Darth Nihilus.

It's pretty hard to miss the similarity between these guys. In addition to their similar names, both Nihilus and the Nihil wear masks and aren't nice to the Jedi. On the other hand, it doesn't look like the Nihil are Force users and might not even be friends with the Sith, either.

So are the Nihil connected to Darth Nihilus? For now, that is still unclear. However, there is a possibility that they may have taken their name from the legendary Sith Lord and adopted it. Either way, we will learn the truth once the new books are released.

The description for The High Republic reads as follows:

"Set 200 years prior to the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order are at their height, serving and protecting the galaxy.

"Featuring brand-new stories from five authors set in an all-new era, this is Star Wars: The High Republic."

The new books from Star Wars: The High Republic are set to be released this August.
