Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Jessica Henwick Joins Iron Fist Cast

A new star is joining the cast of the highly anticipated Marvel/Netflix series, Iron Fist.

According to CBR, Netflix has confirmed that Jessica Henwick is set to join the upcoming series. The 23-year-old actress played X-Wing pilot Jessika Pava in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Nymeria Sand in Game of Thrones.

In Marvel and Netflix's upcoming Iron Fist series, Henwick will play Colleen Wing, a martial arts expert who will be an "invaluable ally to Iron Fist, aka Danny Rand, as he returns to his life in New York."

Recently last month, a tweet was released to tease fans of the upcoming show. Take a look:

Henwick isn't the only Game of Thrones star to have joined Iron Fist. Finn Jones, who plays Ser Loras Tyrell, has also been cast as the lead of the Iron Fist solo series before a massive Defenders crossover starring Jessica Jones' Krysten Ritter, Luke Cage's Mike Colter, and Daredevil's Charlie Cox.

Scott Buck (Dexter) is set to be the showrunner of Iron Fist.

The show's release date remains unknown, but it's expected to hit TV screens in 2017 since the Luke Cage solo series will be released on September 30.

It looks like an action-packed 2016 and 2017 ahead for Marvel and Netflix. Previous tie-up shows by the two conglomerates, Jessica Jones and Daredevil have been welcomed warmly both by fans and critics and I expect no less from Iron Fist.
