Star Wars Rebels Producer Confirms That [SPOILERS] Survived

After four seasons, Star Wars Rebels seemed to end on a high note, with many happy over how the story wrapped. Fans were surprised that the body count wasn't as high as many would have thought, though many were sure that Ezra and Thrawn were killed. Before fans got to theorize about their survival, Rebels producer Dave Filoni confirmed that the two characters are in fact alive.

Filoni appeared on the Star Wars Show, where he dished out details on the series finale and the fate of these characters. Apparently, both Ezra and Thrawn survive the jump to hyperspace but the ending will be left open for future exploration, which should get Rebels fans happy. While the producer states that their fates won't be explored anytime soon, the fact that he assured fans that they are alive is a decent enough gesture.

"I felt a lot about that… It's one of those things that you go "oh boy I love the idea of an end credits scenes" but as tempting as that is but I go "well if I cover that, then I want to do it right" and I don't want to commit to things right now because things might change. So I have a lot of theories about it and what I think happens and where they are. I'll say this much, they're not dead. Both of them survive, both Ezra and Thrawn I would say survive it."

Considering how many enduring characters and concepts were introduced in Rebels, it's fair to say that the show has left a huge impact on the franchise. Fans are more than happy that Filoni will be returning for a new Star Wars series and it should be fun to see what that will be like.
