Star Wars’ Oscar Isaacs Plans To Take A Break From Acting After Episode IX

It looks like Star Wars' Oscar Isaac is planning to take a break from acting once he's done working on Star Wars: Episode IX.

The X-Men: Age of Apocalypse star just recently went on an interview with Indie Wire, and during his discussion with the publication, Isaac revealed that he'd be taking a step back from the film industry after he completes his work on the third and final film in Lucasfilm's Star Wars sequel trilogy.

According to Isaac, he's been working non-stop for nearly a decade. Now, he'd very much like to take at least a year's sabbatical, spending time with his family away from the celebrity spotlight.

"I haven't really stopped for 10 years," the actor explained during the interview. "I'm just going to be with family and taking a bit of a rest."

The Last Jedi also commentedon the production of Episode IX, saying that the film had a looser direction compared to the first two films in the sequel trilogy. J.J. Abrams is apparently more confident the second time around, and the filmmaker has been allowing more improv in Episode IX.

"The way they've been shooting it right now is looser than it's been for the last two times," Isaacs explained. "It does feel like a relief to get on set and feel like, ‘Oh, we can try things.' It's a testament to J.J. coming back and feeling confident. There's less pressure for it to be right. We just want to make a good movie and have a really good time while doing it."

Guess we're going to see more natural lines coming out of Episode IX. We wonder how far this creative collaboration is going to take the film once it premieres next year.

Star Wars: Episode IX hits cinemas December 20, 2019.
