Star Wars: Mark Hamill Says JJ Abrams Made A Mistake In Killing Han Solo In The Force Awakens

It's no secret that Mark Hamill isn't exactly pleased with the current Star Wars trilogy. However, it looks like the Star Wars: Episode IX actor has revealed yet another reason why he isn't happy with the new movies. Hamill has just admitted that he believes that director J.J. Abrams had made a mistake of killing Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Hamill is currently promoting his new series Knightfall Season 2 where he will play an old knight named Talus. While speaking to We Got This Covered, the Star Wars: The Last Jedi actor confessed he didn't like the idea that Harrison Ford's character will never be reunited with Luke Skywalker again.

"I just thought, Luke's never going to see his best friend again. You look at it in a self-centred way. I said that it was a big mistake that those three people would never reunite in any way. I guess I was wrong, because nobody seems to care! I have to stipulate that I care, but it didn't really seem to affect the larger audience. Luke, Han and Leia will never be together again, and I'll probably never get to work with Harrison again," Hamill said.

It's a solid reason for Hamill to dislike the idea of Han being killed off so soon. After all, the three characters were the main reason why Star Wars got started in the first place. Nevertheless, there is still hope that we'll see Han, Luke, and Leia Organa reunited in Episode IX.

There have been speculations that Episode IX will feature a major flashback sequence that will have all three main characters in a bittersweet reunion. It is believed that the scene will show Han and Leia dropping off the young Ben Solo to undergo Jedi training with his uncle Luke. It's a hopeful idea but it's still based on theory so we recommend taking it with a grain of salt.

Star Wars: Episode IX will premiere on December 20.
