Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Gameplay And Story Details Released By Respawn Entertainment

Star Wars gamers were freaking out when publisher EA and developer Respawn Entertainment dropped the very first teaser trailer for Star Wars Jedi: The Fallen Order earlier today at the 2019 Star Wars Celebration in Chicago.

Not only does the teaser for the upcoming single-player action adventure game promise great graphics, it also teases a gripping original story where gamers get to follow the adventures of a young Padawan by the name Cal Kestis who managed to survive the slaughter of the Jedi when Emperor Palpatine gave out Order 66.

Though EA and Respawn didn't give out story or gameplay details during The Fallen Order's panel at Star Wars celebration, they did give out an official press release where gamers can learn more about both.

Here's what the two had to say about the game's story:

"The game will feature an authentic story set shortly after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, when the Jedi have fallen. Fans will play as a young Padawan named Cal Kestis, brought to life by Cameron Monaghan (Shameless, Gotham), who has survived Order 66, the Emperor's secret decree to eliminate all Jedi. Players must pick up the pieces of Cal's shattered past to complete his training and master the art of the iconic lightsaber - all while staying one step ahead of the Empire and its deadly Inquisitors."

According to the press release, fans are going to meet Cal on Bracca, a brand new planet that's going to be introduced in The Fallen Order. Just as the game's trailer implies, Cal is hiding from the Empire in plain sight. However, Cal is forced to make a run for it when he exposes his connection to the Force in front of everyone.

EA promises dynamic gameplay for The Fallen Order, saying that gamers are going to "use their Jedi training to create different melee combinations with an innovative lightsaber combat system and Force abilities."

"Players will also use traversal and other platforming abilities to strategically overcome opponents and solve puzzles in their path across this galaxy-spanning adventure. Star Wars fans will recognize iconic locations, weapons, gear, and enemies, while also meeting a roster of fresh characters, locations, creatures, droids and adversaries new to Star Wars," EA writes.
