Star Wars Filming: Episode VIII Dubrovnik Set Windows Completed, Rogue Set Security Details Revealed

Both Star Wars: Episode VIII and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story are currently in production. Each day, more news are popping up about the two movies' filming process. Most recent news we've gathered are from the Dubrovnik set of Episode VIII, code-named Space Bear, as well as set security details in the Rogue One set.

In the past couple of days, we've seen photo updates of the Star Wars-y windows along Dubrovnik's Stradun main street. They have transformed from mere archways, to doors with nifty control panels, then upgraded with lights. Now, it appears that these windows are completely finished.

Sources from Making Star Wars shared these photos:

It's pretty exciting to get any information on this set because Dubrovnik is such a beautiful and interesting city and Episode VIII will be the first Star Wars film to take place right after its precedent in the saga. We've heard rumors before how Daisy Ridley and Mark Hamill will be among the actors to appear in the streets, but right now there's no guarantee what the set could be of or who will be filmed there.

As for the recent Rogue One filming news, Chinese website tech.sina.com.cn has revealed some fruitful information about security on their set.

The site's source is from an actor who does regular visits of the Pinewood Studios in London. The actor first discussed some routine security details, then he divulged this interesting information:

After that, a member of the security staff will put a small piece of tape over your phone, camera etc to seal the lens. If the tape is removed, it will change colors. When you exit, the security staff will check the tape to make sure that you are not secretly taking any unauthorized photos.

This would explain why we haven't seen much photos emerging of Rogue One production, "much" meaning there still have been slips despite Disney keeping a tight lid on security.

TMZ has shared one of the photos before:

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will hit theaters on December 16, while Star Wars: Episode VIII is slated for release on December 15, 2017.
