Star Wars: Episode VIII Crew Sets Up in Donegal

The crew of Star Wars: Episode VIII have arrived in Ireland's County Donegal, according to The Donegal Daily.

Speculations about the film shooting in the Irish Isle began last month when a local newspaper featured news about Episode VIII filming on their cover.

Meanwhile, the Donegal Daily report said that several trucks and cranes have been spotted at Malin Head recently.

It remains unclear where the exact location of filming will be.

In light of the recent news, journalist Stephen Maguire said on BBC Radio Ulster's Good Morning Ulster programme that "there's huge excitement in the area."

And excited they should be. Oscar Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron in The Force Awakens and the next two installments in the new trilogy, recently teased how Episode VIII will be better than anyone ever expects.

Maguire added:

We don't know what they are filming, or what exact scenes are being filmed, but the reason they must want to film here has to be the spectacular scenery. We just hope it's not a trap!

It's been rumored that the sceneries in the Irish Isle will be used as Luke Skywalker's hideaway. Looking at photos of the place, this speculation appears plausible.

The Malin Head road will be temporarily closed from May 15 to 17.

Star Wars: Episode VIII hits theaters on December 15, 2017.
