Star Wars: Episode IX LEGO Set Possibly Confirms Rey Returning To Jakku

People have been speculating that Star Wars: Episode IX could bring the action back in Jakku after J.J. Abrams shared a set photo that looks a lot like the desert planet. Interestingly, a leaked toy could confirm that Rey is going back home this December.

The leak was shared on Instagram and reveals the new LEGO sets that will be released for Episode IX. Take a look at the image below.

The titles certainly seem exciting but fans have zeroed in on the last title Assault on Jakku. It's certainly a strange entry considering that Rey is already resigned to the fact that she isn't going back to her home planet. However, it does make sense when you look at the Episode IX wrap photo and production locations.

Fans have pointed out that Abrams' wrap photo was taken in Jordan, which originally served as the backdrop for the Jakku scenes in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In addition to that, Daisy Ridley's costume seems to confirm that she's still playing the Rey who was once determined to stay in the desert planet.

Some fans have theorized that Episode IX could end up back in Luke Skywalker's home planet of Tatooine. After all, it would be a fitting conclusion for the Skywalker Saga to end where it all began. However, it seems more plausible for the film to go back to Jakku instead of Tatooine since the current trilogy is largely about Rey's story.

Could Jakku be the final setting for a major battle? It's an interesting thought. However, these are all based on speculations so we recommend taking it with a grain of salt.

Star Wars: Episode IX has not yet been given an official title. Nevertheless, the film is scheduled for release on December 20.
