2017 is celebrating 40 years of Star Wars, and to go along with that, Del Rey has announced that they will be releasing an anthology novel called Star Wars: From A Certain Point of View. The book is said to be a collection of stories based on characters in the background of A New Hope.
The title of the book comes from Obi-Wan's line from Return of the Jedi, when he says that the lie that he told Luke about Vader killing his father it true from a certain point of view. Of course, longtime fans have considered this to be a huge dick move on Obi-Wan's part, but the line is something many Star Wars fans have grown familiar and has become somewhat of a meme in the Star Wars fandom.
The book is said to be a collection of 40 stories from 40 different authors. The stories are also said to focus on characters from both the Rebellion and the Empire, with stories centered on X-Wing pilots in the Battle of Yavin, to the stormtroopers on Tatooine who couldn't find a pair of droids.
Besides the movies, Star Wars is probably best known for its expanded universe, and with the franchise starting a clean slate since 2015, a lot of new authors have the chance to tell some more interesting stories in-universe.
Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View will be available October this year.
